While most tomahawks are chopping tools, a less popular alternative was known as the spontoon hawk. This tool was made with a blade expressly designed for piercing, capable of delivering deep punctures. Often featuring a sloping or diamond-shaped point and sharpened on both sides, the spontoon hawk offered little utility value, but was undeniably fearsome and brutally effective.
Today, modern-made spontoon hawks are extremely rare, with the exception of the cheapest quality imports. To remedy this situation, we have decided to offer our own models. Available in a faux pipe hawk style, these spontoon hawks feature classic sloping and diamond-shaped blades that can be fully sharpened.
